          Three people were arrested Thursday evening after Storm Lake police stopped a vehicle near the intersection of Highway and East Third Streets for a traffic violation.

          A northwest Iowa man who’s been held as a material witness in the deaths of his parents is now charged with his mother’s murder.

          Four Buena Vista University students have been selected to participate in the annual Okoboji Entrepreneurial Institute Sunday, August 3rd through the Friday, August 8th at the Iowa Lakeside Laboratory on West Lake Okoboji.

          The execution of a search warrant Tuesday on an apartment in Spencer resulted in the arrests of five people on drug charges.

          A Coon Rapids man… arrested in January after the Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office investigated a single-vehicle accident… has been sentenced to prison.

          A Rossie woman… arrested last December by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office… has received a deferred judgment.

          Bids will be taken next month to repair flood damage to a bridge on M-27 northwest of Alta.

          A Galva woman was arrested after Storm Lake police were dispatched to Wal-Mart Tuesday afternoon to investigate a theft.

7/30/14 Nursing Home Fined


          A nursing home in Storm Lake has been fined by the state after an investigation into a woman injured at the facility earlier this year.

7/30/14 Lowe Sentenced


          A Sutherland man arrested in November for causing a disturbance at the Renal Center in Storm Lake has been sentenced.

7/29/14 Grassley Supports Federal Disaster Request


            Iowa Senator Chuck Grassley has asked President Obama to grant the request made by Governor Terry Branstad for a declaration of a major disaster in response to damaging winds, tornados, rain accumulation, hail, and thunderstorms.

7/29/14 Capsized Boat


          A boat containing four people capsized north of Bel-Air beach. 
        

7/29/14 SL Dredging Update


          So far this season, 112-thousand cubic yards have been dredged from Storm Lake, despite mechanical problems that have plagued the dredging efforts this year.
