The Storm Lake city council this week approved the final acceptance of the Vestal Street paving project.
The council approved two change orders… one a slight decrease to adjust for quantities… the other, a six-thousand dollars deduction for liquidated damages because the project was completed 12 days late.
The final cost of the project is 988-thousand dollars, which infrastructure director Pat Kelly says is 247-thousand dollars under budget. The city received a 310-thousand dollars federal grant plus 124-thousand dollars from Buena Vista County for the project.
