The Storm Lake Hy-Noon Kiwanis Club is planning a triathlon later this month.  The “Storm the Lake” Kiwanis Sprint Triathlon is a fund-raiser for the Kiwanis International world wide service project to virtually eliminate maternal/neonatal tetanus.
          The event is scheduled for Saturday, August 18th, beginning at seven a-m.  It includes an 800-meter swim… a 12-mile bike ride… and a three-mile run.  The Storm Lake city council Monday afternoon approved several requests for the event… including using Awaysis Park, closing the west Awaysis Park parking lot, a noise variance, and support from the parks, street, and public safety departments.
