The low bid for two new outdoor warning sirens was accepted Monday by the Storm Lake city council.
One siren will be located along C-49 covering the city’s northwest side… with the other near the intersection of Emerald Park Drive and highway 110. The low bid is 33-thousand dollars from RC Systems. The city has received a FEMA grant for 75-percent of the cost, with the state paying ten-percent. The city’s portion will be paid from local option sales tax funds.
The contract calls for completion of the project by November eighth.
