The final acceptance of two street paving projects was approved this week by the Storm Lake city council.
The McKenna Addition project had a final cost of 118-thousand dollars, with 94-thousand approved for the contractor. The construction was originally estimated to cost 106-thousand.
The Bargloff Addition paving totaled one-point-four million, with one-point-two million going to the contractor, Smith Concrete of Storm Lake. The original contract was for just over one million, but paving of Sundown Road was added at a cost of 180-thousand. Infrastructure director Pat Kelly says it turned out to be a really good project.
In other business, the council re-appointed Palmer Olson to the Storm Water Advisory Committee and Mike Wilson to the County Solid Waste Commission…. and appointed Ron Bryan to the Library Board.
