Three new stop signs are planned in Storm Lake. This week, the city council approved the final reading of an ordinance approving the signs.
Infrastructure director Pat Kelly says one sign is needed at the southeast corner of Richland and Industry Street. He says Industry Street has seen an increase in truck traffic from the Sara Lee plant… and complaints have been received of trucks not stopping as they enter Richland Street.
The other two signs are in connection with the paving of West Sixth Street from Renshaw Drive to highway 110. One will be on West Sixth at the intersection with 110… the other on Renshaw Drive at the intersection with Sixth, which will give Sixth Street the through access. Kelly says the West Sixth extension should be ready to open next week.
