The Storm Lake City Council this week approved several requests for the annual Ridiculous Days, July 19th through the 21st.
          Public safety director Mark Prosser says the requests include sidewalk sales by retail stores… the closing of the 500 and 600 blocks of Lake Avenue from three to nine o’clock on Thursday, July19th for streets sales, food vending, live entertainment, the farmer’s market, and the taste of Storm Lake… and a noise variance for those hours.
 
          The council also approved a request for a variance of the no parking zone on the south side of West Tenth Street from Ontario Street west of Vestal Street on Saturday, June 30th, for the Tornado Classic Softball Tournament.  Prosser says this is to facilitate the large amount of bus and other vehicular parking during the tournament.
