A Sanborn woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon at the intersection of highways 18 and 71 north of Spencer.
          The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says deputies located 63-year-old Leola Vanravenswaay of Sanborn trapped and unresponsive in her vehicle.  Vanravenswaay was extricated from her vehicle and later pronounced deceased at the scene. 
          The sheriff’s department says Vanravenswaay was eastbound and entered the intersection of highway 71 into the path of a southbound vehicle driven by Christopher Beyerhelm of Waukee.  Beyerhelm received minor cuts and bruises.  A passenger… Kent Allen of Altoona… was taken to the Spencer Hospital for observation and released.
          The Clay County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol, Spencer Police Department, Fostoria Fire and Rescue, Spencer Fire and Rescue and Spencer Ambulance and Paramedics
