6/11/12 Wal-Mart Theft Arrests



          Two people were arrested Sunday after Storm Lake police investigated a theft report from Wal-Mart.
          On Friday, police were told the theft took place on May 30th.  Store staff reviewing security film discovered a person had allegedly stolen electronic items valued at 300-dollars. Officers who reviewed the security tapes recognized the suspect and the vehicle used to flee from the store.  The vehicle was located at 309 Michigan Street… where police seized items known to be stolen and other items believed to be stolen.
          Police charged 18-year-old Rolando Almendarez, Junior, with fourth-degree theft, a serious misdemeanor.  He was jailed on a one-thousand dollar bond.  Almendarez’ 17-year-old brother was charged with fourth-degree theft and interference with official acts.  He was released to a parent pending an appearance in juvenile court.
