A Spencer man charged in November of 2010 in connection with soliciting minor boys has been found guilty by a Clay County jury..
Seventy-two year-old Donald Zieman was found guilty of three counts of prostitution, an aggravated misdemeanor… and two counts of dissemination or exhibition of obscene materials to minors, a serious misdemeanor. The court dismissed three counts of lascivious acts with a child, a class “C” felony.
At the time of his arrest, the Clay County Sheriff’s Office said between May and August of 2010, several boys were hired as farm help by Zieman. The boys, all minors, were harassed and solicited by Zieman, and were offered cash for sexual favors and acts. They were also provided alcohol, cigarettes, and were asked to participate in viewing child pornography, along with videos and materials downloaded off the internet.
Zieman was given a two year suspended prison term… placed on probation for two years… and ordered to pay 75-hundred dollars in fines, three-thousand dollars in surcharges, and 430-dollars in court costs. He was also sentenced to serve 75 days in the Clay County Jail.
