An Alta man faces numerous counts of sexual abuse after the Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Department investigated a report of suspected sexual abuse on February 12th.
          Sheriff Gary Launderville says 52-year-old Robert Hoffard was arrested on February 15th… and charged with ten counts of third-degree sexual abuse, a class “C” felony… and two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, a class “B” felony.  Launderville says the charges were filed in connection with numerous alleged sex acts with a minor child under 16.
          Hoffard is being held in the county jail on a 150-thousand dollar bond.  The sheriff’s department was assisted in the investigation by the Buena Vista County Attorney’s Office.
