BVU To Host 1st Wrestling Classic

Buena Vista University head wrestling coach Sevond Cole has announced plans to host the first annual Beaver Classic.  The tournament is open for youth, high school and old timers’ divisions and will be held inside of the Lamberti Recreation Center on the BVU campus on Saturday, March 3, 2012.

The youth division will begin wrestling at 9:00am with the high school and old timers divisions beginning at noon.  Registration is $10 if received by February 27 and $12 if paid at the door.

The youth division will consist of all individuals in grades PK-8.  The high school will be grouped for those in grades 9-12.  The old timers group will be divided into both a collegiate and non-collegiate division.  Those individuals who were members of a collegiate team will wrestle in the collegiate division, while those who did not will be paired in the non-collegiate.  Each of those two divisions will be divided into a junior (28 and younger) and senior (29 and older) division.

Awards will be given to the top-four placewinners of each bracket.  All entrants will be paired up based on their weight with a four-man bracket format being used.

Registration forms can be downloaded from the BVU website at http://www.bvu.edu/athletics/sports/wrestling/
