Buena Vista County is applying for federal funding to repave a portion of N-14 from highway three north to Albert City.
County engineer Bret Wilkinson says the replacement of three miles of the roadway is estimated to cost about two million dollars, including new concrete, work on the base, and shoulders. He says the road is getting rough and he would like to repave it in concrete so it will hold up to heavy truck traffic.
Wilkinson says the county is applying for 50-percent funding. He notes part of one lane is within the city limits, and the county will ask Albert City to participate in the project.
