The Storm Lake City Council Monday afternoon approved a development agreement and the sale of land, which will provide for 20 new houses in the third addition north of the high school.
City manager Keri Navratil says developer Joe Aube submitted a proposal to purchase the remaining 20 lots from the city at a cost of 15-thousand dollars per lot. The city will waive the building permit fees, and the council previously approved a change on covenants allowing 12-hundred square foot ranch homes. Aube told the city council, he’s already developed houses that size, with finished basements.
The developer agreement calls for building about three houses a year through 2026… but Aube says they plan on building them quicker. He plans to use Friesen Construction to build the homes.
