A Storm Lake man has been sentenced to prison on a charge of third-offense OWI, a class “D” felony.
Forty-five year-old Tut Jany entered a plea agreement in Buena Vista County District court. This week, he received a five-year prison sentence. He was also ordered to submit a DNA sample and to pay 53-hundred dollars in fines, surcharges, and court costs.
Jany was arrested on January 30th of last year by Storm Lake Police, when an officer stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of East Railroad Street for a traffic offense. Police allege Jany was intoxicated and was at three times the legal limit of intoxication.
Two counts of third-offense public intoxication and one count of driving while barred were dismissed.
