The Buena Vista County Sheriff and Engineer are urging motorists to use caution when traveling in the area due to flooding.
Gravel roads are not safe for routine, day-to-day travel and should only be used when necessary. Motorists should also be concerned about standing water on and across roadways. Officials are placing barricades preventing travel in those areas considered most dangerous. All of the unsafe roads in the area cannot be closed due to a lack of barricades and the constantly changing weather conditions.
Motorists are advised not to drive around those barricades as those roads are closed for safety reasons.
Further updates will be released when road conditions improve.
