Falcons Fall Short In Sub-State Final

Brayton Van Kekerix led three players in double-figures helping Rock Valley beat OA-BCIG 61-46 Monday night at LeMars in a 2A sub-state final.  The Falcons played well in the first half building a 25-10 lead in the 2nd quarter but the Rockets went on a 14-0 run in the final minutes helping them cut the deficit to 27-24 at the half.

Cooper Dejean, who scored a game high 21 points, tallied the first four points of the 2nd half to make it a 31-24 advantage for the Falcons but Rock Valley scored the next seven to tie the game at 31-31 and they would later take the lead for good at 34-33.  OA-BCIG trailed 45-40 with just over four minutes to go in the game only to see the Rockets go on a 16-2 to build their largest lead at 61-42.

JT Vant Hul added 14 and Trey Huyser came off the bench and added 10 for a Rockets team that is now 18-7.  The Falcons ended the season with a record of 18-5 and graduate five seniors from the team, Landon Ray, Ethan Ernst, Kaden Ladwig, Reed Godbersen, and Grant Conover.
