Two Pomeroy men were seriously injured in a one-vehicle rollover accident last Tuesday. (Feb. 5)
The Pocahontas County Sheriff’s Office reports the accident happened four miles northwest of Pomeroy near the intersection of 210th Avenue and 660th Street. It was determined 19-year-old Hunter Messerole was southbound… lost control on the gravel road… and went into the west ditch. The vehicle then rolled, coming to rest in the adjacent field.
Messerole and a 16-year-old passenger were taken by Pocahontas ambulance to the Pocahontas Hospital with incapacitating injuries. Both were cited for failure to use seat belts.
The sheriff’s office was assisted at the scene by Palmer first responders, Palmer Fire Department, and the state patrol.
