The Diocese of Sioux City this Thursday will be presenting over 95-thousand dollars in instructional materials grants to 16 Catholic Schools, including Storm Lake St. Mary’s.
Each year, these grants are given with funds raised through the Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Schools. The schools use these grants for textbooks and technology.
The Bishop’s Dinner for Catholic Schools is the single largest fundraiser, and is held to benefit all 16 Catholic school systems throughout the Diocese of Sioux City. The 22nd Annual Bishop’s Dinner was held on October 21st of last year. Funds raised from the annual dinner are generated from sponsors who support the dinner. Additionally, $80 of every ticket sold goes back to the school of the buyer’s choice. Ticket sales brought in over 17-thousand dollars, which goes back to the schools as unrestricted funds.
