Head Of DNR’s Spencer Field Office Retires

The head of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources’ Spencer field office has retired.

Ken Hessenius worked in that position the past 15 years. He served the DNR a total of 28 years. Hessenius retired December 28th.

In his good-bye letter, Hessenius applauded staff in the Spencer office, saying he believes significant strides have been made in environmental protection.  The Spencer field office serves a 16-county area of northwest Iowa.
