Storm Lake at Ridge View Basketball Recap

The Storm Lake boys put up 30 1st quarter points en route to a 79-40 win over Ridge View Monday night in Schaller.

The Tornadoes only trailed briefly early on, and built a 47-24 lead at the half.

Four Storm Lake players scored in double figures, led by Cham Deng with 16, including 12 in the 1st quarter.  Shol Mabeng got the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Player of the Game with 15 off the bench.  Jamuo Gatwech had 13, and Chakouthchok Malou chipped in 12.  Storm Lake hit 12 threes in the game.

Jake Tokheim and Jake Kliegl each had 9 for the Raptors, as they are now 4-7.  The Tornadoes go to 7-3.


The Ridge View girls beat Storm Lake 59-33.

Storm Lake went on a 13-0 run during the 1st quarter to take a 15-5 lead.  The Raptors narrowed the score to 21-19 in Storm Lake’s favor at halftime.  Ridge View took the lead for good early in the 3rd, as they outscored the Tornadoes 22-3 during the period.

Ridge View’s collective effort, especially defensively, was given the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Play of the Game.  They had four score in double figures, as Kenzee Wunschel had 14, Kennedy Mason 13, Emerson Else 12, and Kara Richard 10.

Rachel Bozonie topped Storm Lake with 16, as they fall to 2-10.  The Raptors are now 6-5.

The Ridge View teams play at MVAO-COU on Tuesday.

The Storm Lake teams next host ELC on Friday.
