East Sac Prevails Over Ridge View

East Sac won a back and forth battle over Ridge View 34-26 on Wall Lake in the Raiders homecoming game.

Ridge View took a 12-0 lead late in the 1st quarter, on the strength of a 13-yard touchdown run by Kevin McGuire, and then a nine-yard touchdown pass from Jake Tokheim to Caleb Kistenmacher.

The Raiders, after going three-and-out on the first three possessions, broke through early in the 2nd quarter on Quintin Ludwig’s ten-yard touchdown run.  With 1:15 to go in the half, Garret Bruce capped a 13-play, 75 yard drive with a one-yard plunge to tie the score at 12 apiece at the half.

Ridge View scored on the first offensive play of the 3rd quarter, as McGuire ran 62 yards to the end zone to put the Raptors up 18-12.

The ensuing drive resulted in a seven-yard touchdown run by Bruce, who then ran in a two-point conversion to give East Sac their first lead at 20-18.

On the next drive, a 50-yard completion from Tokheim to Logan Cuthrell helped set up Tokheim’s five-yard TD run, and then a two-point conversion pass made it 26-20 Ridge View.

After back to back punts, East Sac took over at their own 11, and proceeded to go 89 yards in nine plays.  Bruce’s 28 yard touchdown run with 8:14 to go, followed by QB Griff O’Neill’s two-point run put East Sac back on top 28-26 with 8:14 left.

The Raptors wound up deep in East Sac territory on the next drive, but turned the ball over on downs with 4:01 remaining.  With 1:01 left, Bruce’s fourth touchdown run, a 17-yarder, provided the final margin.  Ridge View then had four passes fall incomplete to turn it over on downs.

Bruce, the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Player of the Game, rushed 20 times for 216 yards.  Ludwig broke a 51-yard run, the Wells Ag Play of the Game, to set up their first score.  Ludwig ran nine times for 83 yards.  O’Neill passed for 51.

McGuire led the Raptors on the ground with 140 yards on 18 carries.  Jake Kliegl rushed for 59, and Tokheim threw for 94.

East Sac unofficially out-gained Ridge View 334 yards to 295.
