Additional repairs are needed on the Casino Beach sewer lift station.
This week, the Storm Lake city council approved adding the work on the current fiscal year capital improvement plan.
Finance director Brian Oakleaf says there have been substantial repairs and improvements made to the lift station over the past several years, with well over 100 man hours spent addressing the problems, which still persist. He says the project is estimated to cost 200-thousand dollars… and includes a near total replacement of filters and other equipment. Oakleaf terms it a lot heavier repair and maintenance than has been done in the past several years.
Oakleaf says the additional project won’t increase the five-year capital improvement budget as other projects and equipment purchases have been delayed or reduced.
