Charges have been dismissed against a rural Odebolt man… who was arrested on September tenth of last year following a four-hour standoff with authorities in Wall Lake.
Thirty-three year-old Justin Allen Pope had made homicidal and suicidal threats both before and during the standoff with authorities. According to court documents, Pope refused to leave a Wall Lake residence… and threatened he would make police shoot him if the officers did not leave. He also threatened to shoot the officers. The Sac County Sheriff’s Office charged Pope with two counts of first-degree harassment, an aggravated misdemeanor.
The Sac County attorney Wednesday filed a motion for dismissal if Pope would complete necessary treatment, which was accepted by District Associate Judge Joseph McCarville.
