Work on driveways for the Storm Lake condo project will be delayed until next year.
The city has a developer’s agreement with Foutch Brothers to construct driveways at the entrance of the condo site on Sunrise Park Road. The city is responsible for 100-thousand dollars of the cost, with the developer paying the rest. Last October, the city council approved a 255-thousand dollar contract with Healy Excavating of Lake View to do the work.
At the time, city manager Keri Navratil said Foutch was bound by the developer’s agreement, and must begin work in spring of 2018. However, this week the city council approved a change order extending the date of the concrete work to start after August 31st of next year, with substantial completion by September 30th of next year.
Navratil told the council the city has now received the architect’s plans for the condo site, which will be reviewed by building official Scott Olesen.
