The Buena Vista athletic department will be holding its annual fall kick-off coaches event on Wednesday, August 29th at 5:30pm at Lake Avenue Lounge in downtown Storm Lake.
B-V-U atheltic director Jack Denhom invites everyone to attend.
This event allows the general public a chance to hear first-hand from the BVU fall coaches who will get up and have a few minutes to speak about his/her upcoming 2018 season.
A social hour will take place from 5:00pm-5:30pm with the program scheduled for a 5:30pm start. Free hors d’oeuvres will also be available throughout.
The fall coaches include Grant Mollring (head football), Aubrey Havlichek (head volleyball), Ben McArthur (head men’s soccer), Sheena Van Roekel (head women’s soccer), Colt Slack (head cross country), Janet Berry (head women’s golf) and Bob O’Hara (head women’s tennis).
The event is open to the general public with no charge.
With the start of football season also comes the kick-off of football tailgating. Buena Vista will again have its own tailgating section open to fans for all five home games this season. It will once again be located on the north east end of the stadium, in the grass area behind the visitor bleacher section.
The lot will be opened three hours before kick-off of each home game with tailgating ending at the start of the contest. Fans are encouraged to leave the area at that point to go cheer on the Beavers and enjoy the game. The lot will then close one hour following the conclusion of the game.
Cost to enter is $10 per car or $15 for recreational vehicles.
