OA-BCIG Keeps Reynolds Trophy

OA-BCIG defeated Ridge View 40-16 in Ida Grove, marking the 2nd win in a row for the Falcons in the rivalry.

Ridge View wound up with five turnovers on the night, including a fumble on the first play of the game.  OA-BCIG scored on a 4th and goal from the 3 run by Kaden Ladwig to make it 6-0.

The Raptors then lost a fumble on their next drive, which turned into a scoop and score for Ethan Mortensen of 43 yards to make it 12-0 just over two minutes into the game.

Ridge View bounced back on their next drive, going 12 plays, 73 yards in 5:33.  Jake Kliegl’s six yard run, and Jake Tokheim’s two point conversion run cut the Falcons lead to 12-8.

Early in the 2nd quarter, OA-BCIG capped a nine play, 83 yard drive with a Ladwig seven yard touchdown pass to Quintin Cranston to make it 20-8, and that would be the score at halftime.

Late in the 3rd quarter, after recovering a fumble, OA-BCIG wrapped up a 25 yard drive with Ladwig throwing a 13 yard touchdown to Cranston, and Ladwig’s two point run made it 28-8.

Ladwig threw a 47 yard touchdown to Cooper DeJean early in the 4th, and Ladwig added a 44 yard touchdown run midway into the 4th.  In between, Tokheim scored on a three yard run for the Raptors.

Ladwig, accounting for five touchdowns, threw for 217 yards, sharing the Wells Ag Supply of Fond Player of the Game with Mortensen, who along with the fumble recovery TD, added an interception in the 2nd half.

Kliegl rushed 19 times for 108 yards for the Raptors.

Ridge View did end up outgaining OA-BCIG 294 yards to 272.

Ridge View will play their home opener next Friday against Woodbury Central.
