On the morning of Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at approximately 12:22am the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to #7 North Windsor Circle to assist EMS at an ambulance call.
While on location police allege they located Wesley Johnson III, age 38 of Columbia, PA in the garage of the residence. Police report they detected the odor of marijuana in the garage and subsequently determined that Johnson was in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Following an investigation the SLPD arrested Johnson and charged him with Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marijuana (serious misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (simple misdemeanor). He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail where he was processed and released pending a court date.
On the afternoon of Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at approximately 12:50pm the Storm Lake Police Department responded to 1204 North Oneida Street in reference to locating a wanted person.
Upon arrival of police they located and arrested Khemphorn Sriharath, age 33 of Storm Lake who was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant charging him with Failure to Appear in Court reference Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Sriharath was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $500.00 bond.
On the evening of Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at approximately 11:40pm Storm Lake Police responded to 411 Expansion Blvd. in reference to locating a wanted person.
Upon arrival police made contact with and arrested Ivonne Martinez, age 26 of Storm Lake who was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant charging her with Contempt of Court – Failure to Pay Fines.
Martinez was booked into the county jail on a $200.00 bond.
On the morning of Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at approximately 10:21am the Storm Lake Fire Department responded to the Technology Center on the campus of Buena Vista University in reference to an automated fire alarm.
Upon arrival of fire fighters it was determined that dust from construction had activated a smoke detector.
There was no fire and no damage.
The fire department was on scene for approximately 20 minutes and was assisted by the Storm Lake Police Department and BVU Security.
