An investigation Saturday evening by Clay County authorities into a report of a suspicious person resulted in the arrest of a Hartley man.
The Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the intersection of Clay County Roads M-27 and B-24 after getting a report of a man in that area who was said to be walking around and disoriented.
Deputies located Jason Hollander of Hartley, who allegedly was under the influence of a narcotic. A drug recognition expert was called in through the Iowa State Patrol and an evaluation was performed. Authorities also discovered Hollander was carrying a nine-millimeter handgun, and he had a second loaded gun in his vehicle.
Hollander was charged with second-offense OWI, and carrying weapons. He was booked into the Clay County jail.
