Spencer High Student Charged With Terrorism Threat

A Spencer High School student has been charged with threat of terrorism, a class “D” felony, for allegedly posting threats against the school on Snapchat.

The student, who’s name hasn’t been released, was transported to the Youth Emergency Services Center in Cherokee.
A statement released by the Spencer Schools says police investigated the threat and searched the student’s residence. Authorities say no weapons or other types of planning materials were found during the search.  The statement goes on to say that there is no evidence of any ongoing threat against Spencer schools.
