Ft. Dodge Woman Sentenced To 17 Years In Federal Prison

A Fort Dodge woman who possessed meth was sentenced Tuesday to over 17 years in federal prison.

Thirty-three year-old Lara Pineda received her prison term after a March of 2017 guilty plea to possession with intent to distribute meth.  She admitted she possessed meth with the intent to distribute some or all to another person.  On September, 2016, during a search of her vehicle, Pineda was found in possession of about one pound of pure meth.  After the plea hearing Pineda fled to Mexico, and was arrested and transported back to the United States.

Pineda was sentenced to 210 months’ imprisonment.  She must also serve a five-year term of supervised release after the prison term.
