The Buena Vista County Community Foundation seeks to provide grant funding to local not-for-profit groups in Buena Vista County whose project will help to make Buena Vista County better in some way. Grants are given for capital projects. The foundation does not provide grant funding for operational programming.
In an effort to assist organizations who wish to apply for a grant in the spring grant cycle the foundation will be holding a grant writer’s workshop on Tuesday, March 6th at 5:30 p.m. Organizations can attend in person at the Storm Lake Public Library (609 Cayuga Street). In addition, the foundation is going to attempt to broadcast the workshop live on their Facebook account (pending connectivity). The foundation’s Facebook page is www.facebook.com/bvccf.
In addition to the training session grant writers can get helpful information including tips, frequently asked questions, and reminders by following the foundation’s Facebook page and on the foundation’s web page at www.bvcountyfoundation.com.
Funds granted through the grant program must benefit Buena Vista County residents and/or organizations. Applicants must be a 501.C.3 organization or a governmental or educational organization such as a City, County, or Community School District or utilize a fiscal agent.
In addition to their grant making side the Buena Vista County Community Foundation is a great way for individuals and families to leave a legacy for future generations. For more information, contact the Buena Vista County Community Foundation by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
