On the afternoon of Saturday, February 24, 2018 at approximately 4:53pm, the Storm Lake Fire Department responded to the Storm Lake Elementary School located at 1810 Hyland Drive in reference to an automated fire alarm.
Upon arrival of fire fighters it was determined that the alarm was caused by a system malfunction.
There was no fire and no damage.
The fire department was on scene for approximately 30 minutes and was assisted at the scene by the Storm Lake Police Department.

On the morning of Saturday, February 24, 2018 at approximately 11:35am, the Storm Lake Fire Department responded to the North Park Apartment Complex located at 1726 East Milwaukee Avenue in reference to an automated fire alarm.
Upon arrival of fire fighters it was determined that cooking smoke on the second floor activated the alarm.
There was no fire and no damage.
The fire department was on scene for approximately 20 minutes and was assisted at the scene by the Storm Lake Police Department.

On the afternoon of Saturday, February 24, 2018 at approximately 3:00pm, the Storm Lake Police Department was on location at a residence located at 1 Rockwell Court.
While at the residence police observed a wanted person. Police arrested Albert Quintana, age 24 of Storm Lake who was wanted out of Buena Vista County on a warrant for Contempt of Court.
Quintana was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $500.00 bond.

On February 24, 2018 at approximately 6:41pm, at the intersection of W. 10th St. and Vestal St. in Storm Lake, an unknown vehicle struck a stop sign and West 10th and Vestal Sign owned by the City of Storm Lake. Total damages were estimated at $80.

On February 25, 2018 at approximately 4:28pm, at 1831 N. Lake Ave. in Storm Lake, a vehicle owned by Samuel Ortmann of Storm Lake, was struck by a vehicle driven by Deborah Hanson of Alta. Total damages were estimated at $1700.

On February 23, 2018 at approximately 9:14am, at the intersection of Superior St. and E. 4th St. in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Dean Brummer of Storm Lake, was involved in an accident with a vehicle driven by Josue Martinez of Storm Lake. The two vehicles collided causing total damages estimated at $3000.

On February 22, 2018 at approximately 7:45am, at 621 Tornado Drive in Storm Lake, a vehicle driven by Molly Gallagher of Newell, was involved in an accident with a vehicle driven by Peter John Peter of Storm Lake. The two vehicles collided causing total damages estimated at $550.
