Odebolt Woman Dead After Car-Semi Crash

A 22-year-old Odebolt woman was killed in a car-semi accident Sunday while crossing Highway 20.

The state patrol says Destiney Rain Gritten was southbound on Alpine Avenue two miles northeast of Cushing. She failed to stop at the stop sign at the highway 20 intersection… and was struck by an eastbound semi, driven by 40-year-old Daniel Anderson of Firth, Idaho. Both vehicles came to rest east of the intersection. The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Gritten was lifeflighted to a Sioux City hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The semi driver was not injured.

Assisting at the scene were the Iowa Department of Transportation and Ida County Sheriff’s Office.
