A Storm Lake man arrested last year has been sentenced in Buena Vista County District Court.
On August 28th, Storm Lake police received a report from Casey’s West that a customer accidentally dropped a baggie of marijuana in the store. The customer left and the baggie was turned over to police. Security video was posted on the police facebook page, asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect… and police received a tip the suspect was 21-year-old Gach Tot of Storm Lake.
Tot was located at Edwards Auto. He requested officers retrieve his personal property from Edwards, and police located additional drug paraphernalia and a small amount of marijuana in his personal belongings.
Tot was charged with two counts of possession of marijuana, a serious misdemeanor… and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. He pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of marijuana… and was sentenced to two days in jail time served. He was ordered to pay 11-hundred dollars in fines, surcharges, and court costs.
