Clark Pleads Guilty To Reduced Charges

A former employee at the Storm Lake Bomgaars this week entered a plea agreement in connection with stealing more than seven-thousand dollars in cash from the store.

Nineteen-year-old Abigail Clark of Early was charged in December with ongoing criminal conduct, a class “B” felony… second-degree theft, a class “D” felony… and five counts of forgery, a class “D” felony. Clark this week entered guilty pleas to single counts of second-degree fraudulent practice and identity theft. The other charges were dismissed. She will be sentenced on March 26th.

The plea agreement calls for Clark to receive a deferred judgment. She will be placed on probation for three years, required to make restitution, and to pay a 750-dollar civil penalty.

Storm Lake Police allege Clark stole over seven-thousand dollars in cash by forging customer names and completing fraudulent returns for cash within the store and then keeping the money.
