Two people were arrested and a third suspect is being sought in connection with a disturbance in Storm Lake late Saturday night.
Police were dispatched to the El Mariachis Dance Club at 523 Erie Street, where staff alleged three patrons physically assaulted a staff member causing injuries to face and head. One of the suspects also punched out the plate glass window in the front of the business, with 22-hundred dollars damage. The injured employee was taken by ambulance to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center where he was treated for serious injuries to his face.
The three suspects had fled from the scene prior to the arrival of police. Early Sunday morning, one of the suspects… 25-year-old Fabian Luna of Storm Lake…was located in the 200-block of West Seventh Street. He was charged with assault causing serious injury, second-degree criminal mischief, both class “D” felonies… second-offense public intoxication, a serious misdemeanor… and disorderly conduct,a simple misdemeanor. Luna was jailed on a five-thousand dollar bond.
Sunday night, a second suspect… 20-year-old Jesus Isai Diaz of Storm Lake… was located at 219 West Seventh Street. Diaz was charged with assault causing serious bodily injury,a class “D” felony and disorderly conduct. He was jailed on a five-thousand dollar bond.
Police are seeking a third suspect in the incident and warrants are being sought for that person. Police were assisted at the scene by the Buena Vista County Paramedics.
