Panthers Open Tourney With Big Win

Playing on their home floor in the first round of the class 1A district tournament the Saint Mary’s boys basketball team rolled over Clay Central Everly 71-31.

The Panthers never trailed in the game and built a 41-19 lead at the half.  They were led in scoring by Will Hurd who poured in a game high 23 points.  Chakouthchok Malou added 15, and Alex Merten tallied 14.

The Mavericks were led by John Galm’s 14 and they finish their year with a record of 2-20.

Saint Mary’s, now 4-17, will play a South O’Brien team that is 16-5 on the season Thursday night at Paullina, game time is set for 8pm.  The game will be broadcast on 97.5FM KBVU
