Tyson Foods will be giving eligible employees one-thousand and 500-dollar bonuses due to recent changes to the tax code.
Tyson says they will give their 100-thousand employees whose pay doesn’t include an annual bonus a one-time bonus. Eligible full-time employees could receive a one-thousand dollars bonus, while eligible part-time employees could receive 500-dollars. The bonuses are expected to be paid in the second quarter, and could total 100-million dollars.
Tyson is reporting a tax savings of 300-million dollars… and has other plans for some of the funds… including employee training and education. Tyson’s Upward Academy allows employees to get their GED and take English As a Second Language classes. Tyson is also planning on capital improvement projects and animal well-being programs.
