Included with be two-and-a-half million dollars for a new industrial training facility in Storm Lake. Three million will go towards safety improvements at all campuses, including Storm Lake… and there will be funding to make improvements to the Storm Lake Iowa Central building.

The largest portion… six million dollars… will go towards a student success center in Fort Dodge. Three million will also be spent on upgrades to the science building in Fort Dodge, and two million for the creation of new career academies.

Iowa Central president Dan Kinney said the bond issue is about keeping young people in the area by investing in education. He says college officials will begin working with architects to finalize the projects. He expects the Storm Lake industrial training facility to be completed in one to three years.
