The Sioux Central boys basketball team outscored Storm Lake St. Mary’s 26-4 in the 4th quarter to lift the Rebels to a 60-47 win at the Panther Pit Tuesday night.
Dawson Miller hit a three for St. Mary’s to open the 4th quarter scoring, giving the Panthers a 12 point lead, but that was the last time they’de score from the field. Sioux Central ripped off 14 straight points after that, capped by a Hunter Decker three to give the Rebels the lead to stay with just over four minutes remaining.
Decker had 16 points, sharing the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Player of the Game with Blake Cavanaugh, who had 14. Those two combined for seven threes. Ben Hargens added 10.

Sioux Central is now 9-7, 6-4 in the Twin Lakes Conference, dropping to St. Mary’s to 2-15 overall.
The Sioux Central girls turned it on in the 2nd half in their 54-25 win.
The Rebels led by 13 early in the 2nd quarter, but an 11-0 run by St. Mary’s cut it to two, before Regan Sylvester hit a buzzer beat for the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Play of the Game to make it 21-17 at the break, and Sioux Central made it a 12-0 stretch as the 2nd half commenced.

Lizzie Lenhart led St. Mary’s with 11, as they fall to 3-15. The Panthers teams will play at Emmetsburg on Friday.
Sioux Central goes to 13-6, 7-3 TLC. The Rebels teams will host Clay Central Everly on Thursday.
