Iowa Wrestling Drops First Dual

No. 4 Iowa (9-1, 4-1) dropped its first dual of the wrestling season in a 22-12 loss to No. 2 Ohio State (10-0, 5-0) Sunday at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio.

The Buckeyes ended a three-year losing streak to the Hawkeyes. Iowa has won 37 of the last 39 duals with Ohio State.

Iowa scored an upset early when No. 6 Spencer Lee upset top-ranked Nathan Tomasello 3-2 at 125 pounds. Brandon Sorensen (149), Michael Kemerer (157) and Alex Marinelli (165) all won matches for the Hawkeyes.

The Hawkeyes wrestle No. 8 Michigan at 5 p.m. CT Saturday at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
