A Storm Lake woman has been charged with child endangerment after police investigated a report of a baby left on a doorstep.
According to police, 22-year-old Deeanna Ramos allegedly left her three-month-old child on a doorstep at 1132 North Seneca Wednesday afternoon , then left the area. Ramos reportedly sent a text message to the reporting party stating she was going to drop off the child at the residence. After receiving the text, the reporting party went to the front door of the home and found the child alone in a car seat located on the front steps.
Wednesday evening, officers located Ramos at her residence and took her into custody. Ramos was charged with child endangerment, an aggravated misdemeanor and booked into jail on a two-thousand dollar bond. The incident was forwarded to the Department of Human Services.
