The Storm Lake School Board hopes to interview representatives of two search firms soon so they can begin the search for a new superintendent.
Wednesday night, school board president Peter Steinfeld said he’s received four proposals from search firms. The board decided to interview Douma Consulting of Orange City and Grundmeyer Leader Search of Ankeny. Douma was the firm hired by the board seven years ago when Superintendent Carl Turner was hired.
Steinfeld said Douma is very focused on northwest Iowa, while Grundmeyer has more of a state-wide scope. Steinfeld said it’s important to have a good, solid search firm to get the candidates the district needs.
Last month, Turner announced his retirement at the end of the current school year.
