“Winter Sunday Funday” will be held at Moorehead Park in Ida Grove. The event is offered at no cost and open to everyone in the community. Beginning at 1pm, the sledding hill opens, with lift available at no charge. 1pm also kicks off open ice-skating on the lake. The Depot will be open all day for anyone wanting to warm up or enjoy delicious, fully-stocked hot cocoa bar. Meet at the Conservation Center for mini sessions from 1-3pm on ice fishing, snowshoeing, animal tracking and winter safety. Learn the basics of these winter activities before getting hands-on and trying them out. At 3:30pm, Winter STEM activities take place inside the Conservation Center, followed by the Owl Prowl at 4:30, where you have the chance to see the barred owl and more as we set out on a nature walk. The day wraps up with a soup and chili supper from 5-6:00pm. The supper is offered at no charge but free will donations for the Conservation Board will be accepted.
