The trial for a Rock Valley man charged with killing his grandfather was continued to give the defense more time to prepare its case.
Twenty-year-old Santos Rodriguez, Junior, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and first-degree arson. He’s accused of stabbing 84-year-old Luis Luevanos several times in his Rock Valley home on October 29th, then setting fire to the house. Rodriguez was arrested November eighth in Utah. According to court documents, Rodriguez admitted to authorities that he stabbed Luevanos and intentionally started the fire.
His trial was scheduled to begin Tuesday… but has now been rescheduled for May first in Sioux County District Court.
