A former member of the Sac City City Council… charged with sexually abusing a child… is being released from jail.
During a bond hearing Friday in Sac County District Court, 75-year-old Gary Lee Hansen was released under the condition he personally appear for all future hearings in the case. In addition, Hanson cannot be alone with anyone under 18. the court also imposed a curfew, requiring Hansen to stay in his residence from 10 p.m. until five a.m.
According to court documents, Hansen has admired to having sexual contact with the victim when the child was six-years-old.
Hansen has been charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a class “B” felony… punishable by up to 25 years in prison. No trial date has been set. Hansen was a member of the Sac City city council until 2015, when he was defeated for re-election.
