Hearing Set For Storm Water Project

A public hearing will be held during the Storm Lake City Council meeting on January second on the Tenth and Ontario Street storm water project.

City manager Keri Navratil says the project includes updating areas with high flood occurrence and high pollutant loads along Ontario Street from Sixth Street north to Tenth Street. Improvements include a storm water basin, retention basins, and bio-swales on city-owned land on the south side of Tenth Street across from the Field of Dreams.

A federal grant will pay for 75-percent of the project, with bids opened on January ninth.
