The Ridge View girls basketball team snapped a four-game losing streak with a 50-43 win over Sioux Central Tuesday night in Schaller.
The 1st half had five lead changes and five ties, as Sioux Central led at the break 23-21. Beth Pickhinke’s three midway through the 3rd quarter broke a 27-27 tie, and the Raptors led the rest of the way, as they went on a 14-2 run into the early part of the 4th quarter to build their biggest lead of 12 points. Sioux Central narrowed the gap in the late stages, as consecutive free throws by Shera Smith got the Rebels within 46-43 with 38 seconds left. Pickhinke and Emerson Else each hit a pair of free throws from there to preserve the Ridge View win.
Kara Richard led the Raptors with a game-high 17, earning the Wells Ag Supply of Fonda Player of the Game. Pickhinke and Kenzee Wunschel each had 9. Ridge View made 17 of 22 free throws.

Dani Boettcher topped the Rebels with 15, and Smith followed with 10. Sioux Central connected on eight threes.
Sioux Central is now 6-4, having their five-game winning streak snapped. The Rebels girls and boys will resume play on January 5th at home against West Bend Mallard.
Ridge View improves to 4-4, and the Raptors squads will next play on January 5th, when they host Westwood.
