Will Pottebaum scored a game high 22 points and the LeMars Bulldogs handed the Storm Lake boys basketball team their first loss of the season 76-34 Friday night in LeMars.
Pottebaum scored 17 first half points including a buzzer beating 3-pointer at the end of the second quarter that gave the Bulldogs a 39-14 halftime lead. Logan Lancaster added 13 points as the Bulldogs improve to 4-0 in the conference and 5-1 overall.
The Tornadoes were led by Cham Deng who scored 8 of his 10 points in the 2nd half. The Tornadoes are now 5-1 overall and 2-1 in the Lakes.
The Bulldog girls team jumped out to a 14-0 lead half way through the first quarter and cruised to a 73-43 win. Madison Dreckman scored 13 of her game high 17 points in the first half and the Bulldogs bump their overall record to 6-1.
The Tornadoes, now 1-6 overall, were led by Kaylee Oehler’s 11 points.
The Storm Lake teams are back home Tuesday night when they host Hull-Western Christian.
